Engagement modelsHow we charge

Three engagement models. Clear terms from the start.

Choose the model that fits your needs: project, subscription or volume. We explain the pricing basis and agree scope, timing, deliverables and fees before work begins.

01 · Models

  1. 01

    Per project

Scope, deadline, deliverables and price fixed for a specific matter or incident.

    When it fits
One-off demands with a defined start and end: a request, an incident, a party-appointed expert report, a due diligence.
    How we charge
Single amount, in instalments tied to delivery milestones. Scope changes generate an addendum approved before any cost.
    What is included
Named technical lead, work plan, all deliverables of the contracted practice, methodology memorandum and clarifications on the delivered work.
    Typical practices
Investigations · Due diligence · Party expert work · Incident response
  2. 02

    Monthly subscription

Dedicated specialist and technology capacity for a fixed monthly fee.

    When it fits
Recurring portfolios, departments with a continuous flow of demands, and law firms with a steady flow of client matters that need technical support.
    How we charge
Fixed monthly fee per capacity tier (volume and specialist hours), 12-month contract with quarterly tier review.
    What is included
Contracted capacity, service priority, and monthly volume and indicator reports.
    Typical practices
Liabilities and analytics · Continuous review · Law-firm partnerships
  3. 03

    By volume

Price per gigabyte processed or per document reviewed, with decreasing tiers.

    When it fits
e-Discovery and document review where volume is the main variable and scope may grow over the matter.
    How we charge
Tiered table: processing per gigabyte; AI-assisted review per document; human quality checks per reviewed document. Tiers decrease with volume.
    What is included
Preservation, collection, processing, AI review and human quality checks, production and methodology memorandum; hosting for the project term.
    Typical practices
    e-Discovery · Document production · Arbitration

03 · Factors

What determines the amount.

Volume, timing, sources, delivery requirements and support shape the quote. If you cannot estimate an item yet, we help define it during the initial assessment.

  1. 01

    Volume

Gigabytes to process, documents to review or cases to structure.

  2. 02

    Deadline

Urgent work depends on availability and access to data. A feasible timeline is confirmed during scoping.

  3. 03

    Source complexity

Email and documents are simpler than messaging apps, databases and legacy systems.

  4. 04

    Formal requirements

Production format, privilege and personal-data handling, languages beyond Portuguese.

  5. 05

    Later support

Clarifications, challenges and technical testimony on the methodology.

04 · Court-appointed expert work

How court-appointed expert fees are set.

When LexNexo acts as court-appointed expert, fees are proposed in the case file and set by the judge under the Brazilian Code of Civil Procedure. The models on this page do not apply to that role.

The expert-fee proposal follows the same transparency standard: estimated hours per stage, methodology and schedule, submitted in writing for the parties and the court to review.

05 · Frequently asked questions

Why not publish the amounts?
Volume, timing, sources and deliverables vary by matter. This page explains the models; the proposal sets out the applicable fees and terms after scoping.
Is the initial assessment or proposal chargeable?
No. The initial assessment and proposal are free, with no obligation to proceed.
How can I compare different pricing models?
Ask for the estimated total cost of the matter, including monthly hosting, licences and project hours, and compare with our fixed proposal. The difference is usually in the variable items.
Can I switch models midway?
Yes. A project can become a subscription when demand turns recurring; volume already contracted is credited.
Can law firms bring LexNexo into their clients' matters?
Yes. The firm leads the matter and the client relationship; LexNexo delivers the technical work to the firm under a written scope.
What if the matter ends early?
Per project, delivered milestones are charged. Per volume, only the volume processed. Under subscription, the contract's termination rule applies.
